CHARLES A. PHILLIPS
Charles A. Phillps, 81, who died Saturday in a Rutland convalescent home after a long illness, was born in Shaftsbury. Previous to his retirement, he had been employed at the Eagle Square Mfg Co in South Shaftsbury for more than 30 years.
Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. Herbert Allen of Wallingford and Mrs. Mary Domina of Portsmouth, N.H.; Miss Anna Golfin of South Shaftsbury and a son, Raymond Golfin of South Shaftsbury; a sister, Mrs. Caroline White of Bennington; a brother, William Phillips of East Greenwich, N.Y.; six grandchildren and a great grandchild.
A private prayer service for the family will be held at Gibney, Haynes & Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm in the South Shaftsbury Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
