Son of Hugh and Martha Williamson Collins, husband of Mabeth Williamson.

MULLINS - Hampton Wade Collins Sr., 67, merchant and farmer, a native and lifelong resident of the Gapway Community of Marion County, died this morning in a Mullins hospital after a critical illness of a few days.

Mr. Collins, in addition to a mercantile business, held extensive farming interests in the community. He was a son of the late Hugh and Martha Williamson Collins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Gapway Baptist Church by the Rev. W. R. Starnes of Conway. Interment will follow in the Gapway Cemetery. The body will be at the church after 2 o'clock.

He is survived by his widow, the former Mabeth Williamson; four daughters, Miss Fannie Collins of the home, Mrs. Hampton Squire of Aynor, Mrs. George Sons of Conway and Mrs. James Caskey of Alexandria, Va.; six sons, Richard I. Collins and Don Collins of the home, H. Wade Collins Jr. of Augusta, Earl Collins and Dan Collins, both of Mullins; two brothers, John R. Collins Sr. and Neil C. Collins, both of Mullins; and 10 grandchildren.
