She was married to James H. Dawes on Jan. 29, 1927, in Holyoke, Colorado. They moved to Douglas in the early '30s, where they farmed, ranched and raised their six children.
She is survived by her son Dewane and wife Donna Dawes of Riverton; daughters Alta Jean Menard of Napa, Idaho; and Mary Alice and husband John D. Murnion of Jordan, Montana; sister Margie Shibly of Groveland, California; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James in 1957; son Bobby Jo Dawes in 1982; daughters Sara Jones in 1998 and Virginia Edwards in 2005; brother Marvin "Bud" Snyder; sisters Hazel Snyder and Ethel Scriven; grandchildren Brian Edwards, Susan Dawes, Tom Menard and Corky Edwards Murnion; and sons-in-law R. W. Menard and Fred Edwards.
