Peacetime Medal of Honor Recipient. His true name was James Francis O'Connor. He served as a Landsman, Engineer's Force in the United States Navy. His citation reads "For jumping overboard from the USS Jean Sands, opposite the Norfolk Navy Yard, on the night of 15 June 1880, and rescuing from drowning a young girl who had fallen overboard."
