Note: a family tree on Ancestry.com has the parents listed as: William Scott Millikin (Sept. 30, 1789 - Aug. 10, 1845) and Ruth Conkey Millikin (about 1792 - Jan. 21, 1839). This has not been confirmed by this contributor, and the obituary for John doesn't provide the names of his parents for clarification. Am mentioning these names with that caution. Any clarification would be appreciated.

Death of Dr. MILLIKIN.

Dr. J. C. MILLIKIN, a practicing physician of this city, died at his home yesterday morning after an illness of about four weeks. Deceased was a native of Washington county, Pennsylvania, and was in the fifty-ninth year of his age. He grew to manhood in that vicinity, and was married there, in 1863, to Elizabeth EVANS, a daughter of Joseph EVANS of this city. The family removed to Fairfield in 1874, and Dr. MILLIKIN has since engaged in practice here. His wife and two sons, W. S. and J. E. (sic.
