Actor. A vigorous contributor in the “Golden Age” of Hollywood, he was active in film production and in acting at MGM and other major studios. He migrated to Los Angeles from Hawaii and he joined the US Army to fight in WWI. Mr. Spencer was a native Polynesian singer, musician, and dancer. Hollywood began to produce a great many “South Sea Island” films. He worked in casting and set direction with these “South Seas” Polynesian films. His acting career soon followed. He was accidentally killed on a movie set at MGM film studios. A large arc lamp fell 40 feet, striking him fatally.
