"Edward Ray was born in Ohio county, in 1820, he is a son of George Ray, who came here from Lancaster county Pennsylvania, in 1819-1820. His parents were from Ireland, but came to America when young. Edward received a common school education, and on entering into manhood he went to farming for himself. He married Miss Curtis, daughter of John Curtis, and they have a fine improved farm. He devotes his main attention to wool growing, in which he has been very successful."
