Irma Ruth Harlan, age 84 years, resident of the Booker Rest Home died Oct. 17, 2011, at the Dayton General Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at the United Brethren Church with Pastor Greg Brownell officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the Dayton City Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to the United Brethren Building Fund, 1106 S. 4th St., Dayton, WA 99328 or charity of the donor's choice through Hubbard-Rogg Funeral Home, 111 S. 2nd St., Dayton, WA 99328.
Irma was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Walla Walla. Her parents were Warren and Minnie Stewart Stone. She graduated from Touchet High School with the class of 1944. She worked in Walla Walla at various jobs before her marriage to George Harlan in 1949. In 1960 they moved to Yakima, where her husband died in 1979. While in Yakima she was a bookkeeper for a dry cleaning business. In 1985 she came to Dayton and was very
active in the United Brethren Church. She enjoyed hand crafts and playing card games.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Gerald (Phyllis) Harlan of Walla Walla; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Hudson of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister
