Clyde W Higgins, 60, Chief of the Dallas Field Division of the Collector of Internal Revenue, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday afternoon at Baylor Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born in Galveston, Higgins spent his entire life in Texas, starting in the steamship and railroad freight business and later operating his own forwardign business. He was with Titche - Goettinger Company of Dallas for a number of years and later with the Federal Reserve Bank here before joining the Internal Revenue Department as Office Deputy in May 1937. He was made Chief of the Dallas Field Division in February 1945.
He was survived by his wife and daughter Dorothy Jane Higgins.

He was the son of Mary Estelle Nowlin (1864 Ellis Co - 1920 Galveston) and A D Higgins. Mary and AD divorced and she married Charles Fowler Southwick who raised Clyde. He had a sister, Harriett Isabelle Higgins Loveland who died in San Antonio in 1956. Clyde married Dorothy Stewart in 1913. She died 21 Dec 1960 Dallas.
