Janet Hicks a resident of Geneva.
Janet Hicks, 64, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at home in Geneva. She was born May 13, 1947, in Melrose Park, Ill. Janet was a counselor for alcohol and drug abuse programs. She also assisted at a home for battered women in DeKalb, Ill. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Walter Hicks Jr. of Geneva; four children, Kathy Hicks, Debbie Caruso, Tim Hicks and Steve Hicks; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Elizabeth; her mother, Fay Smith; three brothers, Bob (Noreen) Smith, Frank (Sandra) Smith and Dean (Lee) Smith; her twin sister, Joan (Terry) Solon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Smith.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, Ill. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. West St., Wheaton. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
