Daughter of the late George and Bertha Fultz Drake, she was born Sept. 9, 1920 in Ansonia.
Mrs. Matthews worked as a paraprofessional for the Ansonia Board of Education. She was a member of the Immanuel St. James Episcopal Church in Derby; and a member of the Ansonia Senior Center.
Survivors include two sons, William Farnham of Oakville, and Harold Farnham of New Haven; daughter, Paula Euell of Prescott, Ariz.; stepson, David Matthews of New Haven; stepdaughter, Kathy Barbour of New Haven; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Sharon O'Conner; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was predeceased by two sisters, Lorraine Sills and Gladys Byrd; and brothers, George, Victor, and Vincent Drake.
Jenkins King and Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Ansonia, handled arrangements. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
