Rev. Cline O. Allen, age 77, of Sequoia Trail, Greeneville, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening (October 11, 2011) at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

He retired from Bachman-Bernard and was a Church of God minister.

Rev. Allen attended First Church of God as long as his health permitted. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Lois B. Allen; one son: Rev. Dr. Darryl Allen and his wife, Susan, of Greeneville; two granddaughters: Marisa Wines and Megan Allen both of Oklahoma City, OK; two great-grandsons: Andrew Allen and Connor Wines both of Oklahoma City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rev. Ray and Diane Belue, Leroy and Sylvia Belue, Sr., Billy and Rose Belue, Hazel Wright, Betty and J. W. McGowan all of South Carolina; several nephews, and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Rev. Odie Allen and Nettie Rice Allen; three sisters: Inez Ledford, Louise Wilson, and Ella Mae Stines; one brother: Tommy Allen; one niece: Wanda Brewster.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Church of God. The Rev. Darrell Sovine and the Rev. Gerald Rudd will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state thirty minutes before the service.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Dwane Reed, Myron Bernard, Donnie Crum, Steve Ottinger, Winfred Solomon, and Ken Oldenburg.

Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Ricker, Rob Russell, Kenneth Trantham, Ronnie Luttrell, Jackie McCrary, Buddy Seaton, Jerry Lane, and the Rev. Stephen Aiken.
