Fred Bishop

OWENTON, April 21. --- Fred Bishop, 59, of Perry Street, died this morning at the Owen County Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Owen County, he had been a feed and seed dealer in Owenton for the last 30 years and was formerly associated with E. W. Simpson.

He was a member of the South Fork Baptist Church, Emanuel IOOF Lodge and Owenton Chamber of Commerce. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Paulie Ayres, Mrs. Dora Jones and Miss Bernice Bishop, and two brothers, Ed and Joe Bishop, all of Owenton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the South Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. Terry Bray and the Rev. Arlie Hale. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be O. D. Hawkins, Malone Simpson, Ed Hill Foster, Charlie Bishop, Estill Hill and Boyce Ligon. The body is at the Kemper-Coates Funeral Home here.
