OBITUARY
James Haney was born in Canada January 6, in the year 1842. He passed away at his home in Westfield, Wis., on May 19, 1923 at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 13 days. When quite young he moved with his parents to Shields, Wis., where he spent his boyhood days.
He was united in marriage in the year 1880 to Mrs. Minnie Johns, also of Shields. To this union six children were born, two of whom died in infancy. About the year 1892 he moved with his family to Lawrence, Wisconsin. Here three years later his wife died leaving him with four small children all of whom are living and were with him during his last hours.
The last fourteen years Mr. Haney has lived in Westfield with his son David. For three years he has been unable to see and suffered from many other afflictions.
He leaves to mourn his death two [s]ons, David and Pat, two daughters Mrs. Avolt Kanneman and Mrs. Gilbert Alexander all of Westfield; one step-son William Johns of Washington, one sister Mrs. Kate Ford of Amiret, Minn., one brother Mike Haney of Westfield, ten grand children and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held on Monday May 21 at Schwarks undertaking parlors. The remains of the departed were laid to rest at the Riverside Cemetery in Lawrence.
