RUTH D. BROESEKER

Ruth D. Broeseker, 89, of 453 Columbia St., Cumberland, Md.,
formerly of Berlin RD 3, died Dec. 26, 1983, at Memorial Hospital,
Cumberland.
She was born April 7, 1894, in Brothersvalley Township, daughter of
Morgan and Emma (Stuck) Dickey. She was preceded in death by parents;
her husband, Edward R. in 1964; and a son, Dickey L. in 1978; three
sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Robert (Joan) Thom,
Cumberland, with whom Mrs. Broeseker resided; Mrs. Earl (Jean)
Shiery, Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ada Duppstadt, Grantsville,
Md. She was a member of Mt. Zion (Hay's) United Church of Christ,
First Society of Farm Women and a charter member of Hillcrest Grange.
Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin,
where services were held with the Rev. Daniel J. Whitacre
officiating. Interment, Hay's Church Cemetery.
