Ann Garms, age 95 of Brownwood, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at a local nursing home.
Ann was born Sept. 9, 1917, to Otto and Hattie Leatherwood. A lifetime resident of Brownwood, she was married to Wayne Garms on June 8, 1940. Ann worked as a bookkeeper for Weatherby Motor Company for 35 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Brownwood and loved her Sunday School Class of many close friends. She was the oldest line dancer in a group of women that danced four days a week and treasured the many memories and friendships that she made with this group. Ann was honored in May for having served as a volunteer in the Brownwood Regional Medical Center "Pink Ladies" Auxiliary for 20 years.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Cleta Garms of Andrews; two neices, Staci Clemmer and Kellye Clemmer; and cousins, Betty Taylor, and Curtis and Marie Chambers.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Wayne.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday July 27, 2012, in the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel.
