Mary Ellen Griffin married John Murphy on June 19, 1918. They had a son named Gerald, who died in an accident at age 8. On November 13, 1919 she had twins, a boy, John and a girl named Margaret. The baby boy died a few hours after birth, the midwife had crushed the babies heads when she was delivering them, and caused brain damage to Margaret. She went on and had 3 more daughters, Eileen, Ruth and Kathleen. Her husband died in 1947.
