Guyana Politician. Reid served as the Prime Minister of Guyana from October 6, 1980, to August 16, 1984, under President Forbes Burnham. A former veternarian, he studied for a his veternarian degree at the Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama, in the 1940s, and later worked in Canada. He was also a teacher. After returning to Guyana, Reid entered politics and served as a key member in Guyana's People's National Congress Party, Deputy Prime Minister, Home Affairs Minister, Finance Minister, and Minister of Agriculture.
