William Henry Krisher, born March 10, 1866 near Lancaster and Glasford, Illinois; married to Hannah Cirrilda Irwin on December 24, 1891 in Trivoli, Illinois; Hannah was born June 11, 1873 in Cuba, Fulton County, Illinois; William died on November 13, 1957 in Walters, Cotton County, Oklahoma; Hannah died on April 04, 1936 in Walters, Cotton Co., OK;

Originally they lived in Trivoli, Illinois where their first four children were born:

William H. Krisher's Father; Lewis Krisher, was a Civil War veteran and was issued a land grant in the Indian Territory in 1901 near what was to become Walters, Oklahoma. The land grant was of 160 acres at a cost of $1.25 per acre. Lewis had to live on the property for 5 years. At the end of this term W.H. Krisher purchased the farm from his Father for the sum of $5000.00.(Dec 19, 1906)
In 1901, (six years before Oklahoma became a state) Mr. & Mrs. W.H. Krisher left Illinois and traveled with the four children by train to Enid, Oklahoma. From there they traveled by wagon across country headed for the Indian Territory - en-route their fifth child, Russell was born 15 July, 1901 in Waukomis, Oklahoma.(about 15 miles south of Enid) After reaching the farm; they erected a tent to live in until a house could be built. They plowed a fireguard around the tent and wagons for safety as the prairie grass was very abundant. There were some wild cattle in the area and Mrs. Krisher shot one while standing in the tent because they were beginning to be a danger to the children. When they left Illinois, they brought with them, fruit trees (apples, pears, plums, and peaches) and grapevines and berry vines. These were soon planted and provided much food for many years. There were no roads, fences or neighbors for quite some time. William Krisher dug two wells, about 15 feet deep and lined them with flat rocks; ending up with a 4 foot diameter well which furnished water for all the household uses and water for the livestock until he left the farm in 1937. They built a two-story house as soon as possible. All of the lumber and other building materials had to be hauled across country from Lawton, Oklahoma, about 18 miles away.

The area near the farm became the Lincoln Valley Community. The Lincoln Valley School was built one mile south of the farm and also served as a church.
