Rose C. Boie, age 88, of Eau Claire died Thursday, July 13, 2006, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer?s.

Rose was born on August 1, 1917, to the late Daniel and Caroline (Skampser) Neary in the township of Brunswick, Eau Claire County. In early childhood her family moved to Eau Claire, where she resided ever since. She attended St. Patrick?s grade and high schools. She worked as a waitress, but primarily at White Machine Works and its successor, Gould Mfg. Co., as a data entry operator. In 1960, she was married to George Boie in Eau Claire.

Many years of enjoyment were spent with her family at their cottage on Lake Wissota, and later at their place in Chetek. She loved a good time, playing cards, and doing crossword puzzles. Rose was a faithful member of St. Patrick?s Church and the Regis Booster Club in its early stages.

She is survived by her husband, George; sons, Kip (Leslie) of Richfield, Minn., and John of Eau Claire; daughter, Catherine (Greg) Waiflein of Long Grove, Ill.; nine grandchildren; brother, George; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Leo and Bernard; and sisters, Stacia, Mary, Helen and Angeline.
