In Dr. E. Russ Williams' book "Founding Families of the Ouachita Valley", it is noted that a Mrs. Sarah Terry married Ambroise Downs July 5, 1832 in Carroll Parish, LA. She was his second marriage.
Sarah A. Terry was living in the household of her son, John A. [Pierce?], Ward 2, Union Parish, 1870 census. Also with her was a daughter Sarah E. Terry.
