James Lee Gambill, 69, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Gambill was born in West Virginia, a son of the late Durward B. and Corrine Littleton Gambill.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and received his B.S. from Ohio University. Mr. Gambill was the owner/operator of Adena Sportswear in Florence. He enjoyed woodworking and was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving are
his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Sue Bridges Gambill of Florence;
four children, Lori Ann (Kevin) Owens of New Hampshire, Brandy Lynn (Joey) Norris of Florence, Heather Renee Gambill of Florence and Jonathan Lee Gambill of Florence; four grandchildren, Jenna Nicole Owens, Shayni Elizabeth Owens, Adrianna Corrine Walker and Stephen James Gambill; five sisters, Betty Poulain of McClenney, Fla., Phyllis Russell of Middleton, Fla., Carol Pennington of McClenney, Fla., Faye Huddleston of Fairmont, W.Va. and Jean (Jerry) Sheets of Huntington, W.Va.;
two brothers, Larry Gambill of Middleton and Randy (Veronica) Gambill of Lake Worth Fla.;
14 nieces and nephews.

Funeral service in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Florence National Cemetery, Florence, South Carolina.
