"The LaFayette Sun" - December 9, 1914:

A Surprise Marriage.

Tonight, sometime after we had eaten our supper and gone into the family rooms, we heard hasty footsteps on the front veranda. On opening the door we were much surprised to recognize the faces of Mr. Willie Bullock and Miss Ella Fronie Newman, who requested the writer to celebrate the rites of matrimony between them. They were of course invited to the sitting room and after the fire had been stirred to give a more cheerful appearance, the short ceremony was performed in the presence of the family and a couple of young gents, who came along to witness the marriage. Then they took their leave and went to give the same surprise to the relatives and friends. Mr. Bullock is the hustling son of Mr. Jack Bullock, who has made himself famous by following the plow. Mrs. Bullock is the charming daughter of Mr. Geo. Newman, of this city, and is well known and distinguished for her noble traits of character.
