Aristide was a native of France. He came to the United States and on November 5, 1868. he married Caroline Gertrude Mordecai, youngest daughter of Dr. Solomon and Caroline "Waller" Mordecai. They were the parents of four children: Helen Gertrude [b. 1869], Corinne Alice [Roberts][b. 1871], Edward Randolph Mordecai [b. 1873] and Caroline Margaret [b. 1880].
