Civil War- CO B 6 KS CAV, He was shot at Mazzards Prairie ( Highway 71 about 4 miles from Ft Smith, AK), July 1864. It was a early morning raid and he was left for dead but lived to father 2 children after.

He Married Ellen Watkins, 24 Nov 1844 in Clark Co, IN and they had, Thomas, Martha J., Nancy Hulda, Ison E., Eliza A., Barbara Delilah, Mary Elizabeth and Victoria I.
After Ellen died he married
Nancy Cashman 11 Sept 1894 in Centerville Iowa, They had no children together
