LARAMIE—Services for Neal W. Hilston, 70, of Laramie were conducted Monday, April 9 at the Chapel of the Plains at Bussel Funeral Home.
Burial was in Laramie.
Mr. Hilston died Thursday, April 5, in Laramie.
He was born in Warren, Ohio April 25, 1913. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1934 at West Virginia University. He received his Master’s degree in 1935 in Nutrition. In 1937 he received a PhD. degree in Nutrition. Both degrees were received from Pennsylvania State College.
He was married to Gertrude Cullinan in Warren on Aug. 14, 1935.
After serving one year as an emergency instructor at the University of Wyoming, he taught and did research work at the University of Arkansas and in New Mexico Satte University. In 1945 he returned to the University of Wyoming as an associate professor of Animal Science. In 1958, he was named Dean and Director of the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture.
He retired June 30, 1978 having served in education for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; one son, Neal Hilston Jr. of Casper; one daughter, Suzanne Bath from Greeley, Colo., four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister.
