County Clerk lists DOD as 10 February 1837. (Suggestion submitted by John Sweeney, Member # 48243422.)∼"Buried in this grave yard is Col. Robert McFarland, the only known officer of the Revolutionary War buried in Hamblen County, and for whom the Robert McFarland Chapter Sons of the American Revolution is named. His grave is unmarked except by a marker from a local funeral home which has recently been placed; descendants of his living in Morristown knowing the location of his grave. Copied by Margaret H. Richardson, October 31, 1936" WPA project, tombstone records, Hamblen County.
