Donna I. Swihart, age 88, of Fredericktown, died Sunday November 22, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Fredericktown. Donna was born October 24, 1921 in Fredericktown, to Stewart and Roselle (Melick) Morrison, she graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1939 and had spent her lifetime in the Fredericktown area. She was a former employee of Cochran's Greenhouse in Fredericktown and was a member of the DORAME Community Garden Club in Fredericktown. In her younger years, Donna took pleasure in the domestic skills of cooking and sewing, caring for her family in the traditional roles of mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed her family and took great delight in all the family gatherings.

Donna was a faithful member of the Batemantown United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughter Lennore (James) Wilson of Fredericktown; her son Leroy (Shirley) Swihart of Fredericktown; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; her brother Donald (Joyce) Morrison of Mount Vernon and a brother-in-law Hobart Williams of Chesterville and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Swihart a daughter Karen Hulse a sister Margaret Williams and a nephew David Williams.

Funeral services will be Saturday November 28, 2009 at 11am at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown. Friends may call Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
