LEOMA GERTRUDE BALLARD, 95, Hamilton, died on Monday, March 8, 1999, in the Marion Baptist Nursing Home in Hamilton. She was born on March 10, 1903, in Marion County, the daughter of William A. and Henrietta Carter Bishop. She was a school teacher for 43 years in the Marion County School System. She was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ for 85 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Ballard, and three grandsons.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at 11 a.m. from the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Hamilton Memory Gardens. Jerry Jenkins was the officiating minister.
Survivors include her children - Lorene Clark, San Antonio, TX, Maudene Johnson, Hamilton, Edith Shotts, Helena, Jimmie Spratlin, Johnson Tenn., and Billie Maddox, Cullman; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister - Ann Wade, Hamilton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law - Murray and Retha Ballard, Hamilton.
Hamilton Funeral Home directed the services.
