Lucille Jeter Ball of Little Rock died at her home on October 11, 2004.

She was born August 13, 1904, at Bellefonte, AR, the daughter of William and Mary Jeter, now both deceased.

She was a retired public school teacher, having taught for many years, first in Nashville, AR, and later in Little Rock. She was very active in her profession, serving as president of the Little Rock Classroom Teachers Association and on several committees of the National Education Association. She graduated from Harrison High School and from Hendrix College, and received a master's degree in education from the University of Arkansas.

She was a devoted member of the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and taught there in adult Sunday School until recent years.

She was married to William P. Ball, former Director of the Arkansas Board of Pardons, Paroles and Probation, who died in 1973.

Born of this union were two sons who survive her, William K. Ball and his wife, Hubby of Monticello, AR, and Don Ball and his wife, Doris of Ballwin, MO. Also surviving are her sisters, Dorothy Robinson of Little Rock and Madeline Paddock of Lexington, KY, and five grandchildren, Lucy Jane Ball of New Orleans, Ramsay Ball and Dr. Charles Ball, both of Fayetteville, Tracy Reeves and Brooks Ball both of the St. Louis area.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a brother, Lewis Jeter.

The family wishes to express its appreciation for the services rendered by Kay Munnerlyn and other caregivers, Dr. Thomas Eans and by Baptist Health Hospice.

A family visitation will be held at her home in Little Rock from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, immediately followed by an 11:30 a.m. graveside service at Pinecrest Memorial Park on State Hwy 5 near Bryant.
