Born August 4, 1917 in College Corner, Ohio; Mrs. DeGlandon was the daughter of Henry Irvin and Beatrice Cardinal Hensley. She married Amos Ira DeGlandon on April 22, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio; he preceded her in death on February 12, 1991.
Mrs. DeGlandon was a real estate broker and had worked for Marg DeGlandon ReMax in Nashville. She had previously worked as a coder/typist for the FBI and Jefferson Proving Grounds. Mrs. DeGlandon was a member of Rush Branch United Methodist Church, Indiana Real Estate Commission, AARP and formerly played piano at church. She was a 1935 graduate of Central High School in Madison and had an economics degree graduate of Ball State University. Mrs. DeGlandon enjoyed fishing, reading, flowers, music, art, painting pictures and playing piano.
Mrs. DeGlandon is survived by her daughters, Barbara Carter of Butlerville, Mary Lou Gootee and Judy (Dale) Shepherd both of North Vernon, Marg DeGlandon of Nashville and Peggy Lee (Charles) Skinner of Southport, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two foster great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and five foster great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Stephen Ray and Michael Wayne DeGlandon; brothers, Norman and Marvin Hensley and grandson, Jerry Shepherd.
A funeral service for Mrs. DeGlandon will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Rush Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jennings County.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home for the Jennings County Jail Ministries program through Butlerville Mennonite Church Jail Ministries.
