Jack Akins, 64, a resident of Chattooga County for 30 years, died Saturday morning.
Funeral services were held at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Milo Knight, the Rev. James Cantrell and the Rev. Robert Akins officiating. Interment was in West Hill Cemetery in Trion, the J. D. Hill Funeral Home directing.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. I Annie Ballard Akins, of Trion; seven daughters, Mrs. Edmond Pierce, Mrs. J. T. Reed and Mrs. Willie Campbell, all of Trion; Mrs. Leroy Townsend, Dalton; Mrs. John Luckett, Calhoun; Mrs. J. R. Cooper, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Mrs. Billy Cothran, Summerville; three brothers, John Akins, of Lindale, Reuben and Richard Akins, both of Mentone, Ala.; two half-brothers, Robert Akins, Trion, and Luke Akins, Lindale; a sister, Mrs. Felix McCoy, Lin- dale; 11 grandchildren, a great- great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Emmett, Williams, James, Reuben and Odis Akins, and Henry and Wesley Melton.
