Letter from sister, Mrs. J. Loftis:
Nancy Amaltha Fagan was born in Forsyth County, Ga. November 26, 1850. She was married to M. M. Mashburn (Melville Monroe Mashburn), June 23, 1879 -- one son was born to them who was named Horace. She had three step children-- Lola, Ed and Albert, the two first have passed away, the latter still living. Her stay was short; a more sincere Christian never lived, faithful to her home and her family, and a great sufferer, and as she talked to me about going away, she had no fears but her one regret was in leaving her baby boy. She went just at the holiday season and had given to me a small amount of money before she became so ill, to buy something for her baby, tho she did not live to see the Christmas day, going away December 23, 1883, from her mother's home in Atlanta, Ga. she was buried in Oakland cemetery, Atlanta, Ga, on the same lot with Virginia Fagan and Thomas Hawkins, near the Hunter Street entrance, southwest corner.
**Note: Melville Monroe Mashburn was married three times. Nancy was his second wife.
***Note: Hans Hammer provided this info but it conflicts with info I had received previously: Section 10 Block 110 Lot 4 Grave 10 - listed at the JJ Jenkins lot. 12 burial on this lot, many with no gravestones.
