Belgian Writer. Georges Raymond Constantin studied law at the University of Ghent and continued his studies at Sing-Barbaracollege. The 1886 publication of "la Jeunesse blanche" garnered him recognition in France. Returning there, he became a writer for the "Journal de Bruxelles." He would publish eight collections of verse, four novels, short stories, plays and criticisms. Considered his finest novels, "Bruges-la-Morte" was printed in 1892 followed by "Le Carillonneur" in 1897. The story was used as a basis for an opera by Wolfgang Korngold. "Le Regne des silence" and "Les Vies encloses" were considered his best poetry efforts.
