Garrett Ackerson Dies

Funeral services for Garrett Benjamin Ackerson, 57 of Donald, who died June 14, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Ringo chapel in Woodburn. Rev. Mary Jane Turner of Giggs Harbor, Wash., officiated and Masonic services were conducted by the Donald lodge. Interment was at Belle Passi Cemetery.

Mr. Ackerson was born April 23, 1893, at Needy and lived most of his life in Donald. He had been a barber in that community for 30 years, was a member of the Rock Creek Methodist church, Donald Masonic lodge and Venus chapter of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Prudence Ackerson of Donald; a daughter, Betty Mae Ackerson of Ft. Lewis, Wash.; three sisters, Hannah Alice Cone and Mae St. Helen, both of Donald and Mabel Watson of Hubbard; and two brothers, David T.
Ackerson of Donald and Charles Ackerson of Gales Creek.
