OBITUARY

Bertha L. Baxter died Jan. 20, 1997 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky., at the age of 95.

Bertha was born Sept. 12, 1901 to Maybel Bacon and David Copper in McDonald, Kan. She was married to William Baxter and they resided in Englewood, Colo., for 55 years before moving to Elizabethtown.

Bertha was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Elizabethtown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her son, Robert F. Baxter, of Brisbee, Ariz; daughter Nancy Smith of Elizabethtown; brother, Richard Copper, of Kiowa, Colo.; sister, Beryl Towns, of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Jan. 23 at the First Presbyterian Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Glenn F. Buzbee, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the McDonald Cemetery, McDonald, Kan.

Memorials may be sent to the Elizabethtown Women's Club, First Presbyterian Church Fund or the donor's choice.
