Born May 5, 1917, in Hedgeville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Sabra Harp Shearer. She was a cook at H and A and Western Steer restaurants, and a member of Indian Hills Christian Church. She was the widow of Marvin Boyd.
Survivors are a son, Marvin Boyd Jr., Brandenburg; two daughters, Janice Dean, Vine Grove, and Wanda Pemberton, Louisville; five brothers, Melvin Shearer Jr. and Glenmore Shearer, both of Lancaster, Harvey Shearer of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Donnie and Douglas Shearer, both of Nicholasville; a sister, Dora Curran, Hephzibah, Ga.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
