Capt. Stephanie Boardman Hamilton also known as "Steph" flew "West" today on the Wings of Angels.
She is survived by her daughter Emilie Hamilton of Huntersville, NC. She is also survived by her mother, Jacquelyn Kirby and husband, Ralph, of El Paso, TX, her sister Sandra Harper and husband Carl, of Spring, TX and niece and nephew, Melissa Becht and Larry Clinton Harper. She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Lawrence Boardman. Lester PFC Tracked Vehicles School Batt US Marines.
Stephanie was born in Wichita Falls, TX. She attended Dallas Baptist College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She married her husband, Jim Hamilton, in 1985. She was a very caring and loving mother who gave everything she had to her family, friends and community at large.
She began her career as a pilot with Piedmont Airlines on May 24, 1982 and worked as a Captain Check Airman for US Airways. When she was not working she was volunteering her time in schools, other charitable organizations, and served as President of the Piedmont Silver Eagles. She also had a passion for stained glass, glass slumping and blown glass.
Stephanie was a loyal and great friend to many and will be remembered for her zest for life and her willingness to always speak the truth. We know she's smiling down on us all. Rest quiet tonight our friends she's in the Hands of Our Lord with her best friend and soul mate.
