Mrs. Mary C. Ackerman, 85, Meyersdale, died April 21, 1979 in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1894, in Northampton Township, she was a daughter of the late Conrad Deist and Emma (Brick) Deist. She was a member of the Amity United Church of Christ. Survivng are her husband, Irwin A. Ackerman; one son, Clarence C. Ackerman, Meyersdale RD 1, two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Raymond and Mrs. Ora Mae Hicks, both of Meyersdale; two sisters, Mrs. Freeman Sarver, Meyersdale; Mrs. Paul Purcell, Brownsville, Pa.; six grandchildren: Donna K. Haselbarth, Judy Meyers, Carol Showman, Kenneth Hicks, Jayne Brant and Robert Ackerman and two great grandchildren. Friends were received at the Leckemby Funeral Home where services were conducted April 24 with the Rev. Lloyd Sechriest officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
