Mary Ann Abare, 87, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Meyersdale, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at Washington Adventist Hospital, Takoma Park, Md. Born July 25, 1917, in Meyersdale, she was a daughter of the late Clay and Josephine (Bolinger) Sperry. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Porter; and four brothers: Charles J. Sperry, George J. Sperry, James D. Sperry, and Robert "Pecks" Sperry. She is survived by her husband, John Ray Abare; niece, Carol J., wife of Don Hoover; special nephew, Charles Sperry; sister-in-law, Agnes, wife of Joe Gatta; and brother-in-law, Joe Abare and his wife, Carol; also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends were received 2-4 and 7-9 Friday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. Robert Robertson officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. Arrangements by the William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale.
