2001 Apr 13 Fri Vietnam veteran MOORESBORO, N.C. – Hugh Curtis Allen, 58, of 7241 Hwy. 221 South, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at his home. A native of Spartanburg County, he was preceded in death by his father, Paul Allen, of Chesnee and a brother, Harold Allen. He was a Vietnam Army veteran, a lifetime member of the DAV, a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church and a self-employed mechanic. Surviving are his mother, Belvia Dixon Allen of Chesnee; wife, Betty Wease Allen of the home; two brothers, Ed K. Allen of Gaffney and O'Neal Allen of Chesnee; and two sisters, Faye A. Blanton and Caroline Allen, both of Chesnee. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hicks Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Raymond Byrd and Ad Hooper officiating.
