Connie Lynn Bonewell was born on December 11, 1952, in Newkirk, Oklahoma, to Anthony Curtis and Gladys Mollie (Swopes) Coleman. She grew up attending Newkirk Elementary School before attending Deer Creek High School. Following her education she married Phillip Lee Bonewell on December 1, 1971, in Deer Creek and they settled on a farm north of Blackwell where she served her family as a homemaker. Following her husband entering the United States Navy, they lived in Long Beach, California, Idaho and Charleston, South Carolina. Following his discharge they moved to Braman, Oklahoma, for a short time before making their home in Blackwell. Her husband preceded her in death on November 24, 2008, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of The Tabernacle Church in Blackwell and enjoyed drawing, painting and singing.
She is survived by a daughter, Sunnie Haynes and husband Mike of Garber, Oklahoma; four sons, Phillip Bonewell Jr. and wife Tammy of Blackwell, Tim Bonewell and wife Luci of Blackwell, Matthew Bonewell of Medford, Oklahoma, and John Bonewell of Blackwell; two sisters, Anita Voth of North Newton, Kansas, and Vicki Coleman of Blackwell; a brother, Larry Coleman of Blackwell; and ten grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Annette Krehbiel.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 30th in The Tabernacle in Blackwell with Rev. Robert Johnson and Rev. Cliff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
