Edith June Armstrong, 76, Nevada, MO passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born June 29, 1935 in Harrisonville, MO, the daughter of Marvin and Marie Stowe. She was married to Phillip Davis who preceded her in death in 1964. Edith later married Arthur Armstrong and he preceded her in death in 2008.



Mrs. Armstrong grew up in Harrisonville, MO. She came to Vernon County in 1975 and has resided here since. She made her living as a nurse's aide at various hospitals.



Survivors include two sons, Ronald Davis and his wife Brenda, El Dorado Springs, MO, and Kenneth Davis, Compton Junction, MO; one daughter, Susan Lawton, Birney, MO; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one step-grandchild; one sister Helen Goft, Overland Park, KS; one brother, John Stowe and his wife Dee, of Florida. She was preceded in death by three children, Thomas, Lori, and Donald.



Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO.



Friends may call now and until noon on Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, October 3rd, between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.
