M. Gladys (Cole) Brooks
M. Gladys (Cole) Brooks, 95, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour. She was a resident of Seymour.
She was born Dec. 8, 1908, in Jackson County. Her parents were Charles A. and Effie Cooley Anderson Cole. She married Gaylord "Gizz" W. Brooks Sr. on Oct. 19, 1929, in Columbus. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda G. Allman of Seymour; a son, Gaylord Wayne Brooks Jr. of Seymour; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son; two great-grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker .
She was employed by Reliance/ Excello Shirt Factory for 45 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour.
The Rev. Bruce Cochran will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel, 316 N. Chestnut St. in Seymour. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service. Burial will be at Reddington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Bus Fund.
