John F. Aschenberg, 77, of Lafayette, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Seton Specialty Hospital at St. Elizabeth Central.
He was born in Lafayette on Oct. 14, 1933 to the late Maurice and Helen Dienhart Aschenberg. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rita Kline and Helen Grogan and a brother, William Aschenberg.
He married Norma L. Moss in Lafayette on May 17, 1958, and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael Aschenberg (wife: Loria) of Lafayette and 4 grandchildren, Stephanie, Heidi, Hannah and Michael.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
