Mary Louisa was named for her mother and maternal aunt, Lousia Virginia Dugas.
As an adult, Mary lived in Washington, D.C.; where she lived and worked with her brother, John Henry. It was here that Mary departed this life in 1914 on the 8th of July. Mary was laid to rest in the Holt Family plot in Oakwood Cemetery along side her parents and brothers who preceded her in death.
