GREENVILLE ADVOCATE - 08SEP1941 - MRS. DORA S. CALL DIES SATURDAY AT HOME NEAR GROVE - FUNERAL SERVICES TO BE HELD AT RESIDENCE TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Mrs. Dora S. Call, widow of Joseph Call, died at 8:30 p.m., Saturday at her home 3 miles east of Mulberry Grove, in Fayette Co., from diseases incident of her advanced age of 88 years, 11 months & 18 days. Mrs. Call, however, had been ill but 2 days.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Call residence, the Rev. J. L. Miller, pastor of the Mulberry Grove Methodist church officiating. Interment will be at the McInturf cemetery. The Runells Funeral Home of Mulberry Grove is in charge.
Mrs. Call's maiden name was Dora Spradling & she was born in Bond Co., near Mulberry Grove, 24Sep1852, a daughter of the late James H. & Cynthia (Jackson) Spradling. She was married in 1877 at Mulberry Grove to Joseph Call, who died in Jan1931. Surviving this union are 3 daughters, Mrs. Daisy Hodson of Fayette Co.; Mrs. Josephine Dearth of Eads, WY; & Miss Lydia, at home. One daughter died in infancy. She is also survived by 1 sister, Mrs. Laura Brown of Seattle, WA; & 1 brother, Harry Spradling & 5 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Call who was affectionately called "Aunt Dora", was a member of the Mulberry Grove Methodist church.
