Rosemary Harrold, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend to many, passed away on August 17, 2009, at the hospital with her family by her side. Her strong faith and prayers carried her peacefully to the Lord after her massive stroke. A Celebration of her Life will be September 3, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at College Avenue Baptist Church, 4747 College Avenue, San Diego, CA. She was born in Morristown, South Dakota, on March 12, 1921, one of ten siblings born to Ira and Martha Herbert. The family lived in Bismarck, North Dakota, until the dust bowl forced them to relocate in the 30's. The family ultimately moved to Salem, Oregon. Rosemary met her future husband Hal Harrold early in 1941, while he was serving in the Navy. They were married June 7, 1943, and moved to San Diego shortly after their marriage, eventually settling in La Mesa to raise their family. Rosemary was first and foremost a wonderful and loving, Wife and Mother. She kept an immaculate home and never had idle hands. Throughout her life she demonstrated her strong faith in God, holding prayer meetings in her home, attending Circle meetings at Church, working in Vacation Bible Schools, even holding some at her home; she was a Deaconess for her church. She worked in government offices during World War II. After World War II, she raised her children. She enjoyed working at the La Mesa Bible Book Store for many years, Washington Inventory, and volunteered at the La Mesa Thrift Shop and was active supporting missionaries and prayer chains. Her husband Hal is an active member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association Carnation Chapter 3 in San Diego and Rosemary was also. Rosemary Harrold is survived by her husband of 66 years, Hal Harrold, the love of her life, and son Bryan Harrold (Vicki Harrold), and daughter Barbara Daskoski (Fred Daskoski), and two grandchildren, Courtenay Harrold and Catherine Morris. In addition, she is survived by siblings Everett Herbert, Esther Botte-miller, Isabel Comstock, James Herbert, and Weston Herbert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Diego Center For The Blind, 5922 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, CA 92115.
