Edith Reedy Pugh, 92, of Marion, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 in the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Va. She was born in Volney on April 27, 1919 to the late Gene Reedy and Maude Anderson Reedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ossie Reedy Sturgill, Viola Pugh and Ruth Duerson. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church. Edith enjoyed gardening and was always outside tending to her flowers. She is survived by, one brother, Estill Reedy, High Point, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Parker and the staff at Valley Health Care Center for the care and kindness shown to Edith. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2011 from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion, with Dr. Mark Ross, Pastor Chuck Barton and Pastor Mike Sage officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon September 25, 2011 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday September 26, 2011, at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bethany Sunday School Class at Marion Baptist Church, 1258 N. Main Street, Marion, VA 24354. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion is serving the family.
