"Death claimed one of the most prominent Slovak residents of the region yesterday, when Andrew Racho, Sr., died at his home at 747 East Diamond Avenue. Death was due to an internal hemorrhage. Born in Europe 47 years ago, he emigrated to this country at the age of 8 years. He settled at Hazle Brook and worked for the J.S. Wentz Coal Company until a few years ago when he moved his family to this city. While a resident of Hazle Brook he was associated with several Slovak societies and served as a director of St. Mary's Greek Catholic church of Freeland. He also served as a teller for District 7, U.M.W. of A. for a number of years. He was a member of St. John's Greek Catholic church of this city, St. Paul's Camp No. 390, W.O.W., St. John's Society, No. 8, P.S.J., and St. Nicholas's Society, No. 189 S.V.J.
He is survived by his wife, one brother and sister in Europe, Mrs. Alex Simuta of this city, Mrs. Joseph Hawki and Mrs. Paul Marcinko of Homestead. The following children also survive: Mrs. John Patrick of this city; Andrew, John, Anna, Betty, Mary, George, Joseph, Steve, Iona, Ethel, and Michael, all at home.
No funeral arrangements have been made."
